House of Bears has a long standing relationship with Susie James of SuziBear Designs. It was 7 years ago in 2004 that as Party Bears we first made contact with Susie and her magical range of antique style bears.

We have stocked Susie’s bears ever since. Not only does Susie create wonderful antique style bears for our shop here in Bath, but she has also extended the range of bears to include her Woodland Collection.

These very unique little souls reflect the spirit of where Susie creates her bears, deep in the heart of England’s New Forest.

Susie began designing and creating bears in 1984, having taught herself how to design, sew and craft at a young age. Susie has always loved bears and another of her main passions is for antique textiles. For many years she worked under the name of Kingston Bears, winning several awards and selling her bears worldwide.

A few years ago Susie moved to the heart of the New Forest heralding a name change and a new range of ‘Woodland Bears’. Inspired by her surroundings Susie sketches her designs onto paper before designing and creating them.
