September 2010 News – New Arrivals

Who could resist these gorgeous pandas, lovingly handmade by Beatrix Harries of Beatrix Bears.

BO BO (left) is made from a delicious golden brown and beige mohair. He looks very whimsical with his felt eyelids and raised eyebrows! Measuring 7" he is sure to be a delightful addition to any new hug. Sorry I've just been adopted.

SNOOPS (right) is quite a thougtful little chap, made from black and cream mohair he is just 6 1/2" tall such a sweetheart!

Both are quite weighty as they are filled with steel shot, certainly a very distressed pair!

If you would like to give either of these little characters a loving home call us on 01225 443091 or email sue@houseofbears-bath.co.uk

March News 2010

Nihao from Deb CanhamArriving soon...

Last month I mentioned that in February we are very lucky to be able to choose the new bears for 2010 from the main teddy bear makers for our shop here in Bath. Having now seen lots of wonderful new creations I would like to show you just a small collection of bears that will be coming to the House of Bears here in Bath very soon.

There are so many gorgeous new bears from ‘Steiff’ this year – it’s difficult just to pick one!

The Teddy Clown Replica 1928, I must admit is one of my favourites.
He’s made of mohair that has been dyed then bleached to give him a well-worn vintage look. He has a pleated collar made of silk organza and a felt hat with pompons sewn on. With his artistically aged appearance I’m sure he will be a big hit. He measures 36cm is stuffed with wood shavings and has a sqeaker. Limited to 1,928 pieces worldwide.

Another of my favourites has to be little ‘Ralph’. Measuring 22cm he is made from gorgeous russet mohair. His body is softly filled with pellets, whilst his head arms and legs are stuffed with traditional Swiss wood shavings, a unique combination. He is limited to 2,010 worldwide.

For all dedicated ‘Rupert’ fans the eagerly awaited ‘Bill Badger’ has now been launched. He is a UK exclusive and limited to just 1,500 pieces. A real colourful chap, he will brighten up anyone’s day!

For more information please contact sue@houseofbears-bath.co.uk or telephone 01225 443091. We are expecting lots of new bears from Merrythought, Teddy Hermann and British Bear Artists throughout March - so watch this space!

November News 2008

It’s our Birthday!

Doesn’t time fly? And it is true the older you get the quicker it goes. Or is it just that we get slower?!!

It is just one year ago, this first Saturday in November, that we opened our doors here at ‘The House of Bears’ in Bath.

Such a lot has happened since then. First it was Christmas, and the bears were just getting adjusted to their new surroundings. Then we had our official opening party, and welcomed Russ Berries’ designer Rickey Austin and award winning British bear artist Samantha Potter to our party. Before we knew it Autumn was upon us, and Charlie & Will came to visit us here at the House of Bears in Bath to launch their new autumn collection of Charlie Bears. And now we are thinking of Christmas again!

To help us celebrate our first Birthday and to mark the start of the winter festivities, Christine Pike and Samantha Potter have created some stunning bears made exclusively for us here at the 'House of Bears'.

It is a bit like 'Little' and 'Large'! On the one hand you have the incredibly cute miniature Christmas piece 'Nick & Noelle - on sledge' by Samantha Potter and on the other you have the majestic 'Ursa Major' 20" Polar bear by the multi-talented Christine Pike.

These stunning pieces do have two things in common – they are both getting ready to have fun in the snow, and each piece is created by an award winning British bear artist.

We hope you love these new pieces as much as we do. They are sure to create quite a stir here – especially amongst the other bears!

October News 2008

Arriving very soon – Isabelle Autumn Collection from Charlie Bears!

Thank you to all those Charlie Bear fans who came along to the Charlie Bear signing here at the House of Bears in Bath at the end of September.

We certainly had a very good day with lots of new Charlie Bears finding wonderful new homes!

Congratulations to Ruth Dickinson from Cardiff who won the lovely William bear and had it signed by William in person!

A very big thank you to Charlie and Will for taking time out of their extremely busy schedule to sign the bears and show us a special, in the fur, preview of the new autumn range of Isabelle Bears.

Taco and Nico were a very big hit – they are just so cute!
Watch out also for Mr Widget (pictured below) – he is a real stunner!

We just can’t wait for the new Charlie Bear Isabelle Collection to arrive at the House of Bears – which should be any day now!

October is going to be a very busy month.

Not only are we expecting new arrivals from Charlie Bears, but also wonderful new gollies from Brigitte Rive, Steiff Christmas Specials and hopefully (fingers crossed) – new House of Bear exclusives from talented bear artists Christine Pike & Samantha Potter.

Oh – I nearly forgot something very important, I hope you like the new website, please let me know what you think !

Charlie Bear Signing

Saturday 20th September 10am - 5pm

Charlotte and William Morris from Charlie Bears will be here at the House of Bears, Bath to launch their new Autumn bear collection, on Saturday 20th September.

There really are so many scrumptious bears in this range that it is difficult to choose a favourite. I must admit, however, that I have fallen in love with ‘Taco’ and ‘Nico’ the two mohair mice from the Isabelle Collection, they are truly magical!
